Recovery is Possible

Updated: Apr 9, 2023

Recovery from mental health challenges is 100 percent possible. I have seen it again and again throughout the years. People who felt hopeless and miserable, finding their way back to themselves and to living their best lives. My favorite definition of recovery is,

“Recovery is remembering who you really are and using your strengths to become all that you were meant to be.”

I love that this definition implies that you were always amazing. Maybe there were some barriers in your way to being everything you could be and, entering recovery, you cut down those barriers so you can thrive.

One of the common themes I notice as people start healing, is they start tapping into their right brain more. Their creative side comes out. Suddenly they are painting again, or playing the guitar, or writing, or dreaming. They are living more in their imaginations. Life is more flowy and open and light. They feel alive again.

Often when people are struggling with their mental health, they stop doing the things they love. Recovery brings you back to all that you have loved. Recovery brings you back to yourself.

If you are struggling, I am here to hold the hope for you.
